PRACTICE PUZZLES, SOLVING TIPS AND LINKS FOR IPC 2013

Update1: There is an erratum published on the IPC site that says the 2×2 restriction applies to Happy Dots too. Since the practice puzzle in the PDF still gives a nice practice for placing the dots and forming regions, and only uses 2×2 regions minimally, it stays the same in the PDF. We’re sorry for the inconvenience.

Right, took a while, but we’re finally there. If you’re still not aware, the Indian Puzzle Championship will be held on 7th July. Here are our (me and Prasanna) best efforts, with the main goal being to try to help the newer participants.

Description : I am giving Series of puzzles for practice in EASY AS ABC.This will boost your confidence and then i will be creating harder ones.

I created these practice puzzles in rush so its of easy-medium levels and you will find it easy to solve.


PRACTICE PUZZLE 1 (Range A-D)
Difficulty :- Easy

Easy As ABC

Rules :
1) Enter the letters in the given range (In given example A-C), each
    letter exactly once, in all of the rows and columns.
2) One or more cells may remain empty in each Row and Column.
3) The letters outside the grid show which letter you come across
    first from that direction.


Now as the given range is A-C and the number of rows and columns are also 3 so there will be no empty cells.
Whereas if it 4*4 grid and the range was A-C then there would be one empty cell in each row and column and SO-ON.
This rules will get clear after seeing the Example and some practice puzzles.
